Henrys Fork of the Snake River, Box Canyon to Riverside

Flows have increased recently, creating mixed conditions across this stretch—the Upper Ranch is tougher, but Middle Ranch and below Osborne Bridge fish better. Golden Stones are active alongside solid PMD and Caddis hatches, with Gray Drakes appearing more as flows push higher. The real story is Mormon Crickets: trout are keyed on them hard, so bring big hopper and cricket patterns. Callibaetis, Tricos, and terrestrials round out your box. Heavy current makes for tough wading in the Canyon; cloud cover helps slow things down and trigger feeding.
