Gin-clear water and flat currents make Silver Creek a technical presentation challenge, fish are leader-shy and easily spooked by poor approach. As of September 6, flows were holding steady at 88 CFS with water at 58°F, ideal for a solid hatch window: Tricos and Blue-Winged Olives peak 7–10 AM, Pale Morning Duns run 9 AM–12 PM, terrestrial ants are active 11 AM–3 PM, and light evening caddis show 6–8 PM. Afternoon wind gusts to 29 mph will suppress midday activity, so focus your effort on the calmer morning and evening slots. Use 6X or 7X fluorocarbon with a leader at least 12 feet, and approach all pods from downstream on your knees to stay out of sight.
