Henrys Fork of the Snake River

Clear water and eased flows have dramatically improved wade access on the Fork. PMD hatches dominate the midday window from 10 AM to 2 PM, making size #20 nymphs like Tungsten Split Case or Stealth Link Mercer solid choices. Terrestrials, ants and hoppers, stay active from mid-morning into late afternoon, with light evening Baetis and Caddis activity rounding out the day. As of August 26, flows were running at 1,300 cfs near Ashton with clear skies and stable conditions; consider working seams and skinny water in the meadow sections by positioning downstream of rising fish and casting upstream.
