South Fork Snake River

Summer hatches are stacked right now on the South Fork—Mutant Stones, PMDs, Yellow Sallies, and Caddis are all active, giving you solid options in both dries and nymphs. As of August 26, flows settled to 5,950 cfs at Lorenzo, running stable and easier to wade than peak outflow season. Water temperature sits at a comfortable 67°F. Multiple access points from Palisades Dam down through Heise and beyond give you plenty of water to work.
