Conditions
The Fork held steady at elevated flows through early August after a mid-week jump, and fish are responding well to the faster water. Mutant Golden Stones are your early-morning play—night hatch peaks before 10:30–11:00 a.m.—so consider Chernobyl Ants, hoppers, and terrestrial patterns. PMDs are in the riffles but fish are selective; add dropper nymphs, ants, and beetles to your lineup. Don't miss caddis and spinner falls in the evening, or streamers if light fades. Designated campsites between Conant and Byington are open, though Heise Road remains closed—plan your approach accordingly.

- Nymphing through the middle of the day has been the best tactic. Hopper-dropper is working well.
- Ants, beetles, and terrestrials are all effective this time of year.
- PMDs still in the riffles, though fish are getting pretty picky about them.
- Streamers are effective in low light and can be thrown all day for catching big fish.
- Caddis and spinner falls in the evening right before dark are worth being on the water for.
