Hatch Status

A few Tricos in the morning; Baetis have been the main attraction.

Conditions

Tricos dominate the morning bite, with Baetis as your main event through midday. Afternoon Callibaetis (sizes 16–18) can appear depending on where you wade, and terrestrials deserve attention if winds build. As of August 19, flows were running at 95 CFS with water temperatures in the upper 60s—stable, prime conditions for standard matching tactics. Note that Kilpatrick Bridge and the preserve's east side close August 24 through January 4 for construction and dredging; confirm access before you head out.
