Conditions
Heat stress had slowed the bite on the St. Joe, though improving conditions and cooler nights should help. As of September 5, flows were running 531 cfs at Calder with partly cloudy skies and temps ranging from 46 to 59 degrees. Golden stones, hoppers, ants, beetles, PMDs, and caddis are on the water. Pull-outs along the road give you solid walk-and-wade access above Avery, while the lower section is floatable.
