Heat has slowed the bite this week, though conditions should improve as cooler nights arrive. As of August 26, flows were running much below normal at 358 cfs at the Calder gauge and holding stable. Golden stones, hoppers, ants, beetles, PMDs, and caddis are active. Access is solid via pullouts along the road; the lower river can be floated, while above Avery is mostly walk-and-wade water.
