Conditions

The North Fork is running with adequate flows and accessible conditions after a recent road closure on Route 255 has reopened, bringing the water back into play with lighter angling traffic expected. At 952 cfs at Canyon Ranger Station, you'll find good holding water in current breaks, deeper pockets, riffle edges and softer seams alongside heavier flow. Fall is settling in across the valley, so transition patterns are worth your attention alongside summer standbys. Consider small streamers and nymph rigs matched to seasonal insects like October caddis and mahogany duns, while ants, beetles, hoppers and standard caddis patterns will still produce.
