Conditions

Late-summer flows on the Lochsa have settled into the pocket water and riffles, with trout concentrating in softer current seams as the season progresses. As of August 26, flows were running 427 cfs and falling steadily under normal conditions. Yellow Sallies, caddis, and terrestrials are active, especially in the mornings and evenings when surface activity picks up. Consider working small jig nymphs or Chubby Chernobyl imitations into the deeper pockets during midday heat.
