October Caddis hatch expected, lasts for a good while, sometimes into November.
Conditions
Fishing is excellent with minimal angling pressure and solid mayfly and caddis activity. As of September 27, flows were running at 6,340 cfs and falling gradually toward 4,000-5,000 cfs for fall and winter. October Caddis should emerge soon and persist into November, making this a prime window. A cooldown expected this weekend may soften dry-fly action, but small dry patterns and nymphing remain productive. As flows drop, consider heavier line and bigger attractors near the edges where fish move into newly accessible water.

Techniques
- Smaller mayfly patterns working great on top as well as caddis patterns when the hatch is on.
- Nymphing very productive when dries aren't on; stripping streamers also productive.
