Caddis have been coming off every evening
Conditions
The Kootenai is firing on all cylinders with big foam attractors and nymphs working 2-3 feet below the surface. Grasshoppers are abundant and effective, and evening caddis are providing a solid hatch window. Expect to find rainbows, cutthroats, bull trout, and the occasional brown in the 12-16 inch range. As of August 7, flows were stable at 9,640 CFS at Leonia with water temperatures around 59°F, creating prime late-summer conditions.
