Clark Fork River

Flows are climbing—as of August 26, the Clark Fork is running 3,690 cfs at Cabinet Gorge, up from 2,550 cfs reported at St. Regis earlier in the month. You're still under Hoot Owl restriction, so fishing is only legal midnight to 2 PM. With higher water and a narrow window, work the soft edges and banks from a distance using weighted nymphs and hoppers on heavier tippet. Caddis, PMDs, hoppers, beetles, and ants are active.
