Conditions
Hoot Owl restrictions have been lifted downstream of the Blackfoot River mouth, reopening the Superior and St. Regis area as a solid option. Water temperatures in that zone have dropped, improving conditions for August fishing. Tricos emerge early in the morning, and caddis remain strong throughout the day; watch for parasitic wasps as well. Flows have risen to 14,800 cfs below Cabinet Gorge Dam as of August 26, running above normal and trending higher. Match Tricos, crayfish patterns, and foam beetles to take advantage of the current hatch window.
