Flows are running steady at 722 cfs as of August 26, but afternoon heat is the real limiting factor right now, water temperatures are pushing fish into a midday funk. Your best bet is to get on the water early and stay late: mornings and evenings bring PMDs, BWOs, and some caddis to the surface, mostly smaller fish. Heavy attractor nymphs work throughout the day, and consider streamers along cutbanks and structure on cloudier stretches. Float traffic is heavy between Barber Park and Eagle, so plan your access and timing accordingly.
