Big Wood River

The Big Wood is shaping up for solid wade fishing over the next week, with low flows making it easy to move around in light water. Morning hatches, Tricos, micro caddis, Baetis, and spruce moths, should draw fish early, but expect afternoon activity to fade as lower sections warm. When the midday lull hits, switch to terrestrials and nymphs to keep the bite going. As of August 26, flows were running at 1 cfs with stable conditions ahead.
