Hatch Status
Still a decent morning Trico hatch mixed with some Baetis.
Conditions
Flows are running low and stable around 321–350 cfs as the reservoir begins to turn over with dropping air temperatures. Expect temporary discoloration in the water as sediment settles, but clarity should return by mid-week. The North Fork is running muddy from recent rain, so focus on the main stem. Morning Trico and Baetis hatches will drive early fishing; expect it to slow once the bugs clear and the day warms. Nymphing produces consistent fish throughout, and terrestrials like hoppers and spruce moths remain effective as afternoon conditions develop.

- In afternoon, fishing can slow down considerably once hatch is done, but nymphing will produce fish.
- No need to start too early as morning temps have been chilly. As day warms, find a few Tricos and mix of other small mayflies, craneflies, and midge.
