Conditions

Flows continue to recede, exposing gravel bars and making wade access practical. As of October 5, the river is running around 4,140 cfs near Irwin with clear water and stable weather in the forecast. Fish are holding tight to cutbanks and seam edges, so approach from downstream and avoid spooking them in shallow water. Mahogany duns, Blue-Winged Olives, midges, and caddis are all on the water, giving you flexibility with dry or nymph tactics depending on the time of day.
