Be on the lookout for BWOs and Mahoganies.
Conditions
Palisades Reservoir is running at 11% capacity, and flows continue dropping steadily across the South Fork. As of September 29, the river was at 1,920 cfs at Lorenzo, making this a time to adapt your approach. Dry-droppers and nymphing are most productive, especially on overcast days when Mahoganies and Blue-Winged Olives are active alongside scattered Caddis and Terrestrials. With water levels falling, consider heavier line and bigger attractors fished near the edges where fish are relocating into newly accessible habitat.
