The Preserve's upper and middle sections are wadeable, though the lower section runs too deep for wading and suits float tubes better. Blue-winged Olives dominate on cloudy days, while Spotted Sedge Caddis and year-round Scuds are consistently available; consider nymphs, emergers, and duns in sizes 16–22 for best results. Silver Creek's trademark glass-slick water and dense vegetation create tricky currents that demand precise, drag-free drifts and careful approach, these fish are exceptionally leader-shy and easily spooked.
