Selway River

The Selway is in solid summer transition mode with dropping flows making fish easier to locate in classic holding water and broken riffles. As of August 26, flows were running at 603 cfs near Lowell—down from 854 cfs earlier in August—and remain stable. Yellow Sallies, caddis, and terrestrials are contributing to surface activity throughout the day. Dry-dropper setups with Yellow Sallies, caddis, or terrestrials should be your primary approach under the overcast skies and light winds.
