Mix of Tricos, Baetis, spruce moths, and crane flies present.
Conditions
As of August 19, flows were running 735 cfs below Magic Dam—a significant rise from earlier in the month. Cooler water has improved conditions for larger fish, though they remain spooky in the lower flows typical of late summer. Plan to cover ground and hunt for less-pressured water. Expect Tricos, Baetis, spruce moths, hoppers, and crane flies to be active. Small nymphs trailed below dries will continue to produce.

Techniques
- Hoppers will turn fish and small nymphs trailed below are always a good bet.
- For those willing to walk, cover ground and find less pressured water. Approach water's edge with stealth as larger fish are spooky and may only give one shot.
