Conditions

Clear water and mostly clear skies make for classic September fishing, though gusty SSE winds to 33 mph will compress the dry-fly window, get on the water early for best results. Flows around 10,600 cfs at Heise are tracking toward ideal fall conditions. Grasshoppers and ants should dominate through midday, mutant stoneflies will show moderate in early morning, and light caddis may appear at dusk. Thunderstorms possible Sunday evening may set up excellent nymphing opportunities Monday morning with Frenchies or small stoneflies.
