Cold water and solid volume are working in your favor on the Kootenai right now. As of August 26, flows were stable at 8,400 cfs with water sitting at a prime 61 degrees. Fish are running small across the lower stretches, and conditions felt off in places, but it's still worth a trip if you're in the area. Foam bugs, Chernobyls, and caddis pupae should draw strikes where they're holding.
