In this episode we welcome back FishBio fisheries biologists Michael Hellmair and Tyler Pilger. The team sits down with us to discuss the more technical aspects of their jobs - specifically, the tools they use day in and day out to help them monitor, measure and store all types of fisheries related data. Fisheries science is a very interesting field and impacts every one of us (whether you fish or not!) - the data collected, observations and assessments made from that data are often used to shape fishing regulations, water management policy and lots more. They also discuss the factors that lead to the length of time Steelhead stay in freshwater, such as food resources and temperature.
