How to tie it
Step 1: Lay a small tube or nail along the tip of the fly line, and lay the leader butt alongside both, its end reaching past the fly line's tip.
Step 2: Wrap the leader back over the fly line, the tube and itself six times, working toward the fly line's tip.
Step 3: Pass the leader's tag end back through the tube, under the wraps.
Step 4: Slide the tube out, then tighten the wraps a little at a time by pulling both ends of the leader. Trim the tags.
