Homer Rhode loop knot
Line to fly in 1 min.
Also called Homer Rhode loop, Homer Rhode, Rhode loop knot
A loop knot of two jammed overhand knots that lets a fly swing free on heavy shock tippet. Made for tarpon and snook flies on 20 to 80 lb mono or fluoro; on light tippet a non-slip loop knot holds better.

How to tie it
Step 1: Tie a loose overhand knot in the tippet about six inches from the end.
Step 2: Pass the tag through the fly's eye, then back through the overhand knot.
Step 3: Slide the overhand knot down against the eye and pull it snug.
Step 4: With the tag, tie a second overhand knot around the standing line, as far above the first as you want the loop to be long.
Step 5: Wet the knots and pull the standing line against the fly: the first knot slides up to the second and they jam together. Trim the tag.
