Clinch to fly line loop
Line to fly line in 0.5 min.
Also called clinch to the fly line loop, clinch knot to fly line loop
The leader butt clinched straight to the fly line's welded loop, like tying on a fly: no loop in the leader, and a smaller, cleaner join than loop to loop. Note, this is a knot you use in a pinch when you don't have a nail-knot-tool or can't tie one by hand. This is the "keep fishing" knot.

How to tie it
Step 1: Pass the leader butt through the fly line's welded loop and pull through about six inches.
Step 2: Wrap the end back around the standing leader five times.
Step 3: Pass the end through the small opening next to the fly line's loop.
Step 4: Wet the knot and pull the standing leader steadily until the wraps seat snug against the loop. Trim the tag close.
