How to tie it
Step 1: Pass the tag end of the backing around the reel arbor, leaving several inches to work with.
Step 2: With the tag end, tie an overhand knot around the standing line.
Step 3: Tie a second overhand knot in the tag end, an inch or two past the first, to act as a stopper.
Step 4: Moisten the line and pull the standing line so the first knot slides down tight against the arbor and the stopper jams against it.
Step 5: Trim the tag end close.
