A short hike from the parking area along a well–maintained trail takes you to Jimmy Smith Lake. From there, an unimproved trail along the north side of the lake takes you to BLM and Forest Service lands. It is a popular year-round trout fishing and fall hunting destination. Camping is limited to two dispersed sites along the 2- mile access road which forks off the East Fork Road. Turnaround space and RV camping is limited at the trailhead parking area.from the lake provides foot and horse access only to adjacent federal lands.
