Sanne Hilbrich grew up in Ontario, Canada, developing a passion for fishing at her family's remote Quebec lake cottage before relocating to Bozeman, Montana to study Environmental Sciences and Fish Ecology. She brings extensive river experience to Canyons River Company, marking her 10th season guiding on the Middle Fork Salmon while having previously guided on Idaho's Middle and Lower Owyhee, Jarbidge, and Bruneau rivers, as well as commercially on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon. Beyond her guiding work, she has taught Wilderness Medicine and Swift Water Rescue courses on rivers in Colorado and Utah, worked as a backcountry ski guide in Sun Valley, and is pursuing a graduate degree in Fisheries Ecology—all driven by her commitment to Snake River Salmon conservation. Her dedication to river work, combined with her scientific expertise and international boating experience, reflects her deep connection to wild waters and the ecosystems they support.
