Peter Gombert was born and raised in Boise, Idaho, where early family adventures in skiing, hiking, and camping sparked his lifelong connection to the outdoors. A formative family trip down the Lower Salmon River ignited his passion for rivers, which deepened when he discovered kayaking and became captivated by its playful and intimate nature. After earning degrees in Atmospheric Science and Economics from the University of Utah, he returned to Idaho each summer to work as a raft guide in Banks, bringing his enthusiasm for the natural world to others. Peter is driven by a deep belief in the transformative joy and presence that nature provides, and he finds profound meaning in sharing these experiences with fellow adventurers.
