James Valle grew up in the heart of Idaho with a deep passion for soccer, which led him to play at the collegiate level and later coach internationally for Arsenal's community program across Israel, the Philippines, and Greece. After returning to McCall from his time abroad, he discovered his true calling on the water in 2016 when he began guiding in Hells Canyon and on the Lower Salmon River, quickly developing a profound love for river work. When not guiding, he enjoys skiing, reading, playing video games, and hiking with his two dogs and one human companion.
