Jack Grim grew up in Hood River, Oregon, where his parents introduced him to river life during family trips throughout the Pacific Northwest, Idaho, Montana, British Columbia, and the Southwest. His guiding career has evolved from the Rogue River in Oregon to the Salmon River in Idaho, where he now spends his summers in The Frank Church Wilderness. During the off-season, he resides in Bellingham, Washington, pursuing a degree in Natural Resources and GIS through Oregon State University, while also traveling to kayak on rivers around the world. Beyond his work on the water, Jack enjoys skiing, fishing, and mountain biking in the North Cascades.
