Buck Reed Dewey is a seasoned guide with deep roots in Idaho's backcountry. Growing up in the McCall area along the Salmon River, where his parents managed Pistol Creek Ranch on the Middle Fork and later owned property at Copenhaver on the South Fork, Buck developed an intimate knowledge of Central Idaho's rivers and wilderness. He began his guiding career immediately after high school, working for several respected outfitters including Mackay Bar, Middle Fork Outfitters, Hettinger Ranch, and Heavens Gate Outfitters, building extensive expertise in hunting and backcountry operations. As a Coast Guard Certified jet boat captain, Buck brings both technical skill and local wisdom to every expedition. In December 2012, he and Joni purchased Mackay Bar Outfitters & Guest Ranch, continuing to draw on his lifetime of experience in the region.
