Extra water is pushing fish out of confined deep spots into runs and pocket water where they're more catchable. As of September 6, flows were running 697 cfs at Lowell, up from earlier in the week, but still in normal range and fishable. Terrestrials remain a solid top-water choice, and small nymphs help you locate fish as they redistribute across more favorable holding lies. Overcast conditions with recent heavy precipitation are keeping the river slightly colored but fishable.

Techniques
- Fish the obvious structure, but also work the transitions between fast and slow water. Trout may not be packed into the same few deep spots they were using during the lowest flows.
- A terrestrial on top is still a strong choice. If fish are not willing to fully commit to the dry, adding a small nymph can help determine where they are holding.
