Last week the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California voted to take on the cost of revamping the system that delivers water from the Sacramento-San Joaquin delta to the South, committing nearly $11 billion to building two massive tunnels. This approval pushes ahead a controversial infrastructure project that could have a devastating impact on The Delta (and our fisheries in the North). In this week’s episode we speak with Michael Frost, 1st Vice President of Restore The Delta (www.restorethedelta.org) who opposes the plan. Listen in as the guys talk with Michael about the history of The Delta and what it does for California's watersheds and fish. Find out what the Delta Tunnel project (AKA California WaterFix) is about and who will benefit, comparisons to Australia's Millennium Drought and their Desalination Pipeline Project (and what happened) and even more!
