Fly Fishing Team USA’s Devin Olsen is back to talk about his new book Tactical Fly Fishing: Lessons Learned from Competition for All Anglers. The book discusses Tight-Line / European Style Nymphing (ESN) / Czech Nymphing in great detail. We talk with Devin about the differences in fishing European water vs. USA’s waters, how to methodically break down different sections of a river or stream, and how fly fishing competitions work. We also spend a significant amount of time discussing high-stick tactics for steelhead - from fishing out of a drift boat to walking and wading for them. It works and it’s deadly! You can buy his book right now on his website.
